Owen builds rapport and trust with clients and their families to form a therapeutic relationship, to set realistic goals and promote adherence to ongoing treatment. Owen takes the time to understand the client’s condition to ensure that the patient is involved in decisions regarding their care. He also ensures that appropriate referrals to other members of the MDT are made. He currently works within a multi-disciplinary team in his role with the persistent pain service, and works closely with pain management consultants, psychologists, and nurses to ensure patients are supported with their clinical needs. Owen has extensive experience in working in the community, where he supports people with disabilities and functional difficulties in their own homes with the support of clinical professionals.
Owen’s clinical experience and expertise reside in the assessment and treatment planning of both acute and chronic conditions. He qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2016 and is registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health and Care Professionals Council. Owen began his career working for the Sirona Community Rehabilitation Team, providing physiotherapy at home for an NHS caseload. He then moved to London and worked for the Vita Health Group, dealing with musculoskeletal disorders. His current NHS work is split between being Clinical Lead Physiotherapist at the University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Persistent Pain Service, and as a First Contact Practitioner for the Swift Primary Care Network.
Owen has been a Case Manager since 2019.
