Expertise

Debjani qualified in physiotherapy in 2002 and undertook a master’s degree in physiotherapy in 2004. She began working in the personal injury sector soon after qualifying undertaking comprehensive assessments and case managing complex cases for both adults and children.  

Debjani has particular experience in working in burns and plastics as a part of a multidisciplinary team to treat and rehabilitate burns patients. This included acute care, planning for surgery and skin grafting and flaps, post-surgical rehabilitation and functional restoration, including vocational rehabilitation for clients following their burn injuries. She also has experience with major injury services dealing with clients who have suffered severe trauma and catastrophic injuries such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries and amputations.

House Fire

A 19-year-old client was involved in a house fire and suffered 35% mixed depth burns to the face, upper limbs, hands and the lower part of both thighs and legs. He also suffered a right-sided pneumothorax and multiple right wrist fractures.

A 25-year-old woman was involved in a road traffic accident and suffered multiple injuries to her thorax including pneumothorax, multiple bilateral rib fractures, scapula fracture, surgical emphysema and a right lung contusion.
