Pia is a dedicated and highly skilled physiotherapist who qualified from the University of Chile in 2014. Following her early clinical work, she continued to advance her professional development by completing an MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2017. This foundation has enabled her to build a strong career within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to clinical practice, research, and service development initiatives.
With substantial experience as a Senior Physiotherapist in both hospital and community healthcare settings, Pia has developed a broad clinical skill set and a strong understanding of complex patient needs. She has worked across diverse areas of physiotherapy, supporting patients with acute and long-term conditions, and consistently demonstrates an evidence-based, patient-centred approach to care. Pia also has a particular interest and growing expertise in pelvic health and is passionate about advancing best practice within this specialty.
In addition to her clinical work, Pia is actively involved in teaching, mentoring, and leadership. She has contributed to staff development, student supervision, and collaborative quality-improvement work, helping to support effective team functioning and high standards of clinical delivery. Her background in research further strengthens her commitment to continuous learning and innovation within the profession.
Pia is known for being proactive, empathetic, and creative in her problem-solving. She is deeply committed to her patients’ well-being and to supporting her colleagues within the wider healthcare team.
