Expertise

Rebekah graduated from University of Cumbria with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy before completing her junior rotations at both University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, where she worked in a wide variety of areas such as musculoskeletal outpatients, neurology, intensive care, cardio-thoracic, surgical, general medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedic inpatients trauma and elective.

Rebekah then took on a variety of senior NHS roles from 2012 – 2019 in the community, including hospital admission avoidance, specialist stroke physiotherapist and cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation. Rebekah managed complex medical needs, both pre-existing and newly diagnosed disabilities and complex psycho-social care needs. Rebekah formulates rehabilitation programs, taking all needs into account and ensuring it is client and goal-centred. Rebekah also has a special interest in women’s health and Pilates in rehabilitation.

Rebekah has worked within the private sector since 2014 and as a case manager with Rehab Direct since 2018. She works with clients presenting a wide range of conditions, including persistent pain and CRPS, complex polytrauma, and neurological injury, including acquired brain injury and FND. She undertakes initial needs assessments and recommends clinical rehabilitation plans and functional restoration for injured clients. Rebekah is experienced in supporting clients with special needs, including autism.

She is also committed to helping clients with physical, psychological, and social needs reach their full potential following an injury. Rebekah can holistically assess each client’s needs, working closely with them and referring to specialists when appropriate and without delay. Rebekah keeps up to date with the latest research and treatment techniques, with access to the CSP pain society, to deliver high-quality care to the client and maintain continuing professional development.

Functional Restoration

Management of a holistic functional restoration programme for a woman who has suffered greatly from medical negligence. The programme involved a chronic pain programme, psychological therapy, clinical Pilates, women's health referral and case management to oversee the treatment and support the client with the support of an interpreter.

Road Traffic Accident

A male client was involved in an incident which resulted in him being thrown off his pushbike by a car. He suffered multiple physical injuries including fracture cervical spinal fracture and vascular dissection requiring emergency surgery. The client also suffered from a traumatic brain injury.
