Nicole is an experienced Occupational Therapist with over 25 years of practice, specialising in neurology across acute, rehabilitation, and outpatient settings, including vocational rehabilitation.
She is passionate about improving outcomes for patients with neurological conditions by delivering high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and rehabilitation. While working as a Clinical Specialist OT, Nicole ensured the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based OT interventions for patients admitted with acute stroke and stroke mimics, such as FND, frailty, and seizures. These interventions included functional assessments. Before this, Nicole led a national pilot vocational rehab OT and neuropsychology outpatient service for brain cancer, supporting patients with job retention or leaving employment.
Nicole is skilled in balancing clinical, managerial, and leadership responsibilities, leading teams in dynamic hospital environments, conducting research, and teaching locally, nationally, and internationally (Vietnam). In addition to this, she has valuable experience in expert witness and medico-legal report writing and independent practice.
